Modern Society has allowed us more opportunities in life than our predecessors; but in an urban culture infected with religious and political doctrines, influenced by others' beliefs and ideology and shaped by the acts of historical figures, choice does not equal freedom. Freedom is the ability to interpret and express yourself openly and without barriers, offered with honesty and indifference to the reception that it might receive.

Eddie Williams. Founder of Infected UK

Eddie Williams' designs are a product of the environment that he was born into but feels he has been pushed out of; reflection and translation can only be achieved through detachment and his creative and critical eye is the result of an increasing epedemic of alienation that the artistic feel from their surroundings.

Having trained as an architect, laws of buildings, clients and money oppressed his expression as an artist and he moved into designing clothes as his preferred medium. His techniques are all self taught and were started in his bedroom in South London. As the demands for his designs grew he moved into a studio in Deptford, the heart of industrial London, offering him a deeper insight into the mechanics of UK Culture. He believes in producing work in a sweatshop free environment and each piece is hand-made for authenticity and uniqueness.

As the face of the environment that he interprets evolves, his content is reflected in his style and he believes in using extremes of textures, colours, shapes and sizes. Eddie Williams' contrasting images and ideas in his prints as he percieves complex contradictions are central to London culture and life in general; there is no love without hate, freedom without entraption, good without evil and life without death. These contrasts, exisiting to give their counterpart mening, validity, appreciation and intensification, are an inspiration and a constant reminder of his reason for designing; that life is complicated yet beauty can be captured in the simplicity of art.

Eddie has built up a solid loyal customer base including celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Madonna, Tim Burton, Tracy Emin, Russell Brand & Robbie Williams.

Infected:UK believes in donating a percentage of it's profits each year to childrens charities committed to bringing out the best in those who have been abused or abandoned and those with disabilities.
